Welcome! I’m excited to hear that you are interested in learning more about the Arabic language! I’m an experienced Arabic + English teacher dedicated to encouraging students of all levels. I can help you gain the skills and confidence to develop both spoken and written fluency as well as cultural understanding. We all have different goals for learning a language and I believe in keeping that goal at the core of our lessons. Learning a language should be enriching and fun!
I am a Jordanian educator based in Amman, Jordan. I earned my teaching diploma from the Teacher’s Preparation Institute in Ramallah and have since worked as a teacher for nearly two decades.

Before Amman, I was primarily based in Dhahran, Saudi Aramco a multicultural community where I taught English and Arabic as a second language. I have taught Arabic as a second language to students of diverse ethnic backgrounds and vocations ranging from tutoring elementary school students to teaching lawyers, engineers and medical staff. My work with the Arabic language has also taken me into the healthcare sector, where I facilitated communication between foreign medical staff and local patients.
Since moving to Amman, I've played an active role in spreading greater cultural awareness and education through my work. I have previously taught American University students doing a language semester abroad with CIEE (Council on International Educational Exchange) Amman, and since 2018 have been with the Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Abroad program sponsored by Amideast Amman, dedicated towards teaching Arabic as asecond language to American exchange High School students. I have also worked one-on-one with visiting doctoral students on enhancing their topic-specific literacy and fluency.

I teach American university and high school students colloquial Jordanian Arabic at the beginner to advanced levels with focus on the spoken language. Lessons focused on developing spoken fluency with emphasis on vocabulary, sentence structure, grammar & verbal delivery. Topics taught for everyday use include: greetings, riding a taxi, conducting conversations with friends, numbers & money matters, how to order at a restaurant, speaking about daily routines in the past, present & future tenses.
I teach using program lesson plans as well as self-designed and created materials. I assessed student performance using rubric with criteria including: ease of expressing one's ideas, adherence to grammatical rules, richness of spoken vocabulary
