“Salam Abughazaleh has been one of my favorite and most influential instructors. She taught me a lot about the Arabic language and culture. If you show excitement and effort as a student, she will return it tenfold as an instructor."

- SOLARIS, YES, ABROAD AMIDEAST ALUMNI 2018-2019 AND PGO PARTICIPANT SUMMER 2020

"My experience with Salam as a teacher was incredibly fulfilling. She is a teacher who knows how to engage and connect with her students. She helped me to improve my Arabic fluency while learning about Arab culture. I went from knowing next to nothing about the Arabic language to carrying on conversations and being able to write paragraphs. Salam cares about each of her students and adapts her teaching to best suit you."

- KALLIE, YES, ABROAD AMIDEAST ALUMNI 2018-2019

"Salam is truly one of the most thoughtful, caring and thorough teachers that there is. She brings such an uplifting and focused energy to her classroom and simultaneously challenges, motivates and encourages those who she teaches. It was an honor to have been in her class and to have studied with someone as dedicated as Salam. She is committed to improving her students' grasp of Arabic and also the depths of their understanding of Jordanian culture including cuisine and fashion."

"I met Salam shortly after moving to Saudi Arabia; she was teaching Arabic with Community Education in the community where we were both living.  My group classes evolved into private lessons as we progressed thru the curriculum.  Salam
is a passionate teacher who gives 100% of her energy to her students always going above and beyond the traditional role of teacher.  We started with conversational Arabic, which  evolved into writing and reading.   I have notebooks filled with our work together.  Salam had a good sense of humor which helps when teaching adults who are struggling students.  Because she is a great teacher; I never felt silly or inept in her classes (which I was).   So much patience!

Later, she and I worked together professionally and I  was able to observe her teaching young  children.  I watched as she motivated her students  to learn by infusing her classes with exciting and innovative teaching methods which captivated young minds. These young children started with little to no arabic and by the the of the school year were able to introduce and describe themselves at length, discuss family members, talk about hobbies, school and friends.

I am beyond excited to start her on-line classes and  pick up where we left off on my Arabic journey. "
